Paradigm Governance Partners, a governance and financial services firm with a presence in the Cayman Islands and the US, has bolstered its expanding team at a critical juncture in the firm’s growth by making two new appointments and unveiling two promotions.

Kenneth Adumekwe joins Paradigm as Head of Compliance after serving for several years as the Head of Regulatory Services at Paget-Brown Trust Company. Before this, he worked for the Maples Group and DMS as a Senior Vice President and Director for Compliance Services respectively. He also spent 10 years as the Director for Risk Management at KPMG in the Cayman Islands.

Adumekwe will head up the Compliance team at Paradigm supported by Tanya Jamieson, Fiduciary Support Coordinator, and other members of the Paradigm team.

In another high-profile hire, complementing Paradigm’s existing skillset, Miles Perryman joins as a professional independent director with an extensive legal and governance background. Over the past 14 years, he has served on the boards of hedge funds, managed accounts and general partners of private equity structures.

Before moving into the field of fiduciary and governance services, Perryman practiced tax law in the corporate tax department of the global law firm, Allen & Overy. In 2007 Miles moved to the Cayman Islands working initially for Deutsche Bank’s fiduciary services division and subsequently with another Cayman governance services firm.

Finally, in an indication of the firm’s ability to also develop talent from within, it has announced the promotion of two key staff.

Laura McGeever, previously a Fund Services Manager, has been promoted to Director in the fund services team. McGeever, who has been with Paradigm since its early days, is a Fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute, a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and holds the Accredited Director designation granted by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Canada.

She is a Professional Director registered pursuant to the Cayman Islands Directors Registration and Licensing Law, 2014. The appointment of Adumekwe will also allow McGeever, who previously also acted as Compliance Officer, to focus on her core responsibilities and clients.

In addition, Jessica Samadi, previously a Client Accountant/Administrator at Paradigm Governance Partners, has been promoted to Manager – Accounting and Operations, in recognition of her expertise, hard work and dedication since she joined the business.

Prior to joining Paradigm, Samadi worked at KPMG. During that time, she worked on some of the island’s largest enterprise companies as well as taking the lead in various captive audits.  Samadi is a qualified CPA and has demonstrated her talents and skills for both Paradigm and various clients in a manner that has exceeded expectations in the midst of her career progression.

Geoff Ruddick, Partner, Paradigm Governance Partners, said: “I am delighted to bolster our team at this critical time and to welcome Kenneth and Miles into the Paradigm family. They arrive at a critical moment in our growth as our unique offering, based on a collaborative approach and quality client service, continues to gain traction in the industry. I am thrilled to be able to boost the depth of expertise in our team with executives of their experience.

“As regulatory requirements become ever more complex and nuanced, Kenneth’s appointment allows us to focus on such developments in the midst of our growth. We would also like to thank Laura, who has taken the lead on compliance for a long period and has done a fantastic job. Equally, Miles’ vast expertise and deep knowledge of legal structures and regulatory environments will complement the existing skillset we have here at Paradigm.”

“I am also especially delighted to be able to showcase our ability to develop talent from within. Laura and Jessica have worked so hard and with such dedication to the business during a time of growth and the transition of the business from being a true start-up to an established firm in Cayman.”
