Appleby Fiduciary re-brands as Estera; makes senior appointments

The firm previously known as the Appleby Fiduciary Business, which completed a management buyout from the Appleby Group in December 2015, has re-branded and made several key appointments to its senior executive team.

The company has relaunched under the brand of Estera – a name inspired by an internal staff competition.

“We’ve built a robust fiduciary business in Cayman over the last decade through our investment in our staff and dedication to providing innovative corporate administration and private client services to our clients,” said Julian Black, Cayman-based group director of Estera. “The rebrand marks a new chapter and opens up exciting opportunities for our Cayman operations.”

The firm has also appointed Roger Siddle as non-executive chairman. Siddle has formerly been chief executive of BPP Holdings, one of Europe’s largest training and education companies, and Findel, one of the UK’s biggest home shopping, educational supplies and healthcare businesses. He is currently non-executive chairman of regulatory compliance consulting and software business Cordium and a senior corporate adviser and member of the National Development Board for the NSPCC.

“It is an honour and a pleasure to have been appointed chairman of Estera at such a pivotal time in its history. I am looking forward to working with a great team and playing my part in helping guide the company to further its success as an independent fiduciary business,” Siddle said.

Estera has also appointed Fiona Crellin and Richard Gordon to the board of directors of Estera Trust (Cayman). Crellin and Gordon join existing board members Farah Ballands, Julian Black and Richard McMillan.

Crellin is the Trust Services Manager of Estera Trust (Cayman) and also manages a portfolio of trusts and companies for high net worth individuals. She joined in 2006 and has over 17 years' experience working in trust and corporate administration.

Gordon is the Directorship Services Manager at Estera Trust (Cayman), working on a wide range of corporate structures and investment funds.

“Fiona and Richard are proven leaders who will drive our business forward,” said Ballands, CEO of Estera. “These appointments recognise their outstanding work on behalf of the company and their clients, as well as their ability to guide the direction of Estera in Cayman.”
