31-03-2016

Offshore law firm Appleby has appointed three new partners to its Corporate Practice Group globally and added two additional counsel in the firm’s Georgetown office.

Christian Victory and Jacob MacAdam have been appointed as Corporate Counsel in Cayman. In addition, Andrew Jowett, Corporate Counsel in Appleby’s BVI office and Kate Storey, Corporate Counsel in Appleby’s Guernsey office will become partners on 1 April 2016.

In addition, Appleby will welcome a new partner, Fiona Chan, in early May 2016 who has previously worked with Clifford Chance, Ogier and Harneys.

Cameron Adderley, Appleby’s Corporate Global Group head, said: “These appointments will provide additional strength and talent to our corporate offering and they are aligned to our ambitious growth strategy.  I look forward to welcoming Fiona to our team and I would like to congratulate Andrew and Kate on being promoted this year.

“The offshore markets continue to thrive. In Appleby’s latest Offshore-i report, released earlier this month, the total cumulative value of offshore M&A deals in 2015 increased 56% over the previous year, with average deal value topping highs not seen since 2007.  Our team is busy and it is in growth mode. The addition of Andrew, Kate and Fiona to our partner ranks is a tremendous boost and will enable us to continue to focus on providing an exceptional service to our clients and referrers.”
