CIMA appoints head of the Securities Supervision Division

Heeraman Jowaheer has joined the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) as head of the Securities Supervision Division.

Jowaheer brings a wealth of experience in alternative investment, private equity funds, licensing, policy development, offshore finance, regulatory compliance monitoring, corporate governance, supervision of non-bank financial institutions, as well as negotiation of double taxation, trade, and investment promotion and protection agreements.

Immediately prior to joining the Authority, Jowaheer was employed at a US SEC-registered investment adviser company where he served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance. He also held other senior leadership roles at the Mauritius Financial Services Commission and the Mauritius Stock Exchange.
