The National Workforce Development Agency on Cayman has partnered with administration firm Maitland to offer a new internship programme, which will offer two Caymanians with six months of job training.

Daniel Spence and Robia Mcfield were the first two successful candidates. They have been receiving training since mid-November.

Lenin Perumalsamy, senior hedge funds solutions manager at Maitland, said: “We are excited to welcome Mr. Spence and Mr. Mcfield to our community and help them explore a new path as the possible next generation of specialists in the alternative investment and fund administration industry.”

Dianne Conolly, the acting director of NWDA, added: “We hope that those selected will embrace the opportunity to enhance their employability skills with practical application and training, and hopefully after the six months, to qualify for transition into an apprenticeship.”
