Conyers Dill & Pearman has appointed James Denham as an associate in the corporate department of the firm’s Cayman Islands office. His practice areas will include corporate finance, M&A, corporate reorganisations and capital markets with a particular focus on derivatives and structured finance transactions.

Prior to joining Conyers, Denham trained and worked, post qualification, in the London office of Allen & Overy as part of the derivatives and structured finance team. His work included OTC derivatives trades (equity and credit), repackaging programmes, regulatory advice and a number of high value derivatives disputes arising from the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the Icelandic banking system during the financial crisis.

Kevin Butler, partner & head of the Cayman Islands Office, said: “We are pleased that James has joined the Firm. Based on his past achievements and skillset, we know that he will be a valued addition to our corporate team.”
