The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has appointed Juliette Maynard as deputy head of the investments and securities division.

Maynard is responsible for overseeing the licensing, regulation and supervision of mutual funds, mutual fund administrators and entities conducting securities investment business under the Securities Investment Business Law and the Mutual Funds Law and ensuring compliance under the Money Laundering Regulations and the Proceeds of Crime Law.

She joined CIMA in December 2012, in the role of chief analyst in the investments and securities division, where her responsibilities included the supervision of a team of analysts and senior analysts, the oversight of the risk assessments of licensees, and the planning, execution and reporting of divisional inspections.

Maynard said: “It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to know that CIMA has recognised the efforts which I have made during my time with the authority, and to see the confidence they have placed in me to serve at a higher level.”

Cindy Scotland, managing director of CIMA, said: “Once again, we are pleased to be able to fill this key position through promotion from within the authority. Juliette has demonstrated a level of professionalism in her previous role which, coupled with her academic qualifications, will be an asset in the new position. Her willingness to share her knowledge and provide guidance to her team is also an asset as we continue to groom and promote our junior staff for succession. ”
