Paradigm Governance Partners, which offers independent directors, AML officers, distressed fund and value recovery services, outsourced accounting, and economic substance services, has added an experienced fund professional to assist the business in its rapid growth.

Greg Essner will be based in New York and will serve as an independent director on the boards of alternative investment vehicles. He is an industry veteran with 34 years of finance experience including audit, accounting, financial reporting and investment management.

Prior to joining Paradigm, Essner was chief financial officer and a partner of Trian Partners, a multi-billion dollar investment management firm. Since its launch in 2005, Essner oversaw, among other things, Trian’s finance, accounting, tax and information technology functions. While at Trian, Essner also had extensive experience with regulatory compliance, governance and fund formation. Prior to Trian, Essner was with Triarc Companies and KPMG.

Paradigm was formed in 2018 in the Cayman Islands by Geoff Ruddick, Glenn Kennedy and Nic Corsetti on the back of a growth in demand for premier quality fiduciary services. Its directors provide complementary skillsets ranging across all aspects of the alternative investment industry, including risk management, legal, regulatory, audit, accounting, compliance, valuation, trading and recovery.

Ruddick said: “We are thrilled to have Greg join Paradigm, as someone with his depth of experience is invaluable and his unique skillset from the perspective of a fund manager will be incredibly complementary to our existing team. Greg’s presence in New York will also greatly expand our service offering to our clientele.”

Essner said: “I am excited to be joining such a high quality and forward-looking firm as Paradigm where I will be able to support and complement the fiduciary team as the firm’s representative in the New York area.”
