New asset manager will use Cayman-based Alternative Investment Fund format

Richard Bateson, an executive who previously worked at the Man Group, has formed a new asset management company that will offer a variety of investment programmes available to professional investors in a Cayman-based Alternative Investment Fund format.

Bateson Asset Management says on its website that it will utilize quantitative methods such as machine learning and artificial intelligence to rank companies, predict market patter s and target enhanced returns.

Bateson was formerly head of Man’s multi-strategy systematic Dimension AHL fund and was GLG’s senior quantitative research strategist.
