Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes has strengthened its Cayman expertise with the appointment of a senior finance lawyer.

Chinyin Johnston, who will initially be based in the firm's London office, has extensive experience advising on law in the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands, said Mourant Ozannes.

Johnston joins from Walkers where she served as senior associate for almost six years. Prior to this, she served as a managing associate at Linklaters.

Robert Duggan, managing partner of Mourant Ozannes' London office, said: “Chinyin is an excellent lawyer and is widely respected, as much by her clients as by lawyers working opposite her on transactions.

“Chinyin will be a key member of our senior team in London and will be instrumental in helping us to grow our Caribbean finance practice, further underpinning our strategic aim to be one of the top performing offshore legal practices in the City.”

Chinyin added: "I have come to know Mourant Ozannes well during the past fourteen years, and it is an excellent firm with a reputation to match.  I am very excited to be joining Mourant Ozannes in London and look forward to contributing to the growth of its Cayman Islands and BVI finance practices, and to being part of a dynamic and growing top tier team.”
