Maitland launches offices in US; moves some Cayman staff to Canada

06-10-2016

Maitland, which provides legal and tax advisory services to private and corporate clients and has an office on the Cayman Islands, has launched offices in New York and Miami, US, and will move some staff from Cayman to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the coming months as part of a restructuring.

In a holding statement, Maitland said: “Maitland has embarked on a concerted growth push into North America. We have a historical 20 year presence through the previously named Admiral Administration in Richmond, Halifax, Nova Scotia and Cayman.

“In 2012, Maitland acquired Admiral with the specific aim of brining institutional substance to an alternative investments specialisation.

“As part of this institutionalisation and driven by client demand, we have, in September 2016, opened a mid-town New York office and a downtown Miami office. This brings us closer to our institutional and private clients in North America and LatAm.

“As part of this, some staff will be moving from Cayman to Halifax in the coming months. We remain committed to Cayman as a jurisdiction for the unique benefits it brings to our global 16-office multijurisdictional offering.”
