Intertrust, a provider of trust and corporate management services, has expanded its fiduciary team in the Cayman Islands and in Singapore.

Rob Aspinall joins the firm from Deloitte in the Cayman Islands as a director of fiduciary services in the Cayman Islands. Martin O’Regan joins as director, fiduciary services in Singapore.

Both individuals will be primarily focused on the provision of independent directors to hedge fund and other collective investment vehicles. Aspinall spent eight of the last eleven years specialising in advising the investment funds industry.

After gaining experience in Deloitte’s audit and financial advisory departments, followed by a two year stint with Harmonic Fund Services, a boutique service provider to the alternative investment industry, Aspinall returned to Deloitte in 2009 and was later appointed a director. In this role, Aspinall led the firm’s hedge fund consulting practice, specialising in complex insolvency, restructuring, consulting, due diligence and forensic accounting for alternative investment vehicles.

Whilst at Deloitte Aspinall acted as a liquidator (fiduciary) on numerous Cayman-registered funds, many of which were contentious in nature, and he has worked closely with various international regulatory authorities including the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Warren Keens, managing director of fiduciary services, said: “Both Martin and Rob bring with them the highest level of global professional experience and the client service acumen that our clients appreciate and expect. These two individuals understand our clients’ businesses and will make important contributions to the growth of our fiduciary business.”
