Cayman Islands-based financial services firm, Five Continents Financial, has launched a governance services business.
Glen Wigney, a former Deloitte partner, will head the division as managing director.
“In 2014, in response to the alternative asset management industry’s growing demand for engaged and experienced fund governance we added fund governance services to Five Continents Financial Limited which is led by Glen Wigney,” said Five Continents.
Scott Elphinstone, managing director and chief investment officer of Five Continents, said: “We come at the fund governance area from a slightly different angle in that our core business is discretionary investment management. We have invested our client assets in hedge funds for almost 20 years as a part of a well-diversified portfolio strategy that includes fixed income and equity securities.
“Adding Glen to our team is going to crystalise the opportunity for us and possibly additional partners in the governance area.”
