Carne Group, a global provider of independent fund governance and oversight solutions for investment funds, has named Michelle Wilson-Clarke as the latest addition to its team of Cayman Islands fund directors.

Wilson-Clarke joins Carne from Intertrust Fund Services (Cayman). Carne’s Cayman Islands office now has seven independent fund directors.

Prior to working for Intertrust, she was with Walkers Fund Services (WFS), a division of offshore law firm Walkers, which was acquired in 2012 by the Intertrust Group. She began her financial services career with Wellington Management Company in Boston, Massachusetts.
John Donohoe, chief executive of Carne, said: “We're very pleased to welcome a fund director of Michelle’s calibre to our Cayman Islands office. Michelle has served for many years on funds sponsored by some of the largest hedge fund managers and global institutions.

“She arrives at a time when fund managers and investors are placing increased importance on the appointment of experienced high calibre independent directors to fund boards. Her expertise in capital markets, governance and compliance will be of particular value to our clients.”
Wilson-Clarke added: "Fund managers in the US and elsewhere are now embracing the need for independent, institutional standard fund governance in order to meet the enhanced oversight requirements from both regulators and investors. I’m looking forward to working with my Carne colleagues and my clients to meet these demands."
